About the Role:

Principal Responsibilities

Work closely with the High Performance Director to implement Golf Ireland’s High Performance programme which includes:

  • Manage the preparation of HP and Coaching Grant applications to Sport Ireland, Sport NI and The R&A.
  • Preparation and management of annual HP budget and ensuring that operations and key deliverables are achieved and delivered in line with budget.
  • Manage the administration of the international fixtures programme which comprises of approximately forty international fixtures and encompasses travel, accommodation, budgeting and personnel management.
  • Manage the coaching programme for Golf Ireland’s Pathway which includes the oversight of over three hundred coaching sessions each year.
  • Lead the administration of the Golf Ireland Professional Funding Scheme including promotion, compilation of applications, shortlisting and communication with applicants.
  • Act as the direct line manager for two High Performance staff including the High Performance Coordinator and High Performance & Championships Coordinator.
  • Support the National HP Subcommittee and be responsible for actioning decisions of that Committee.
  • Oversee the delivery of Golf Ireland’s Coach Development Programme.
  • Manage the collation and provision of information to the Golf Ireland Communications Department to ensure the High Performance section of the Golf Ireland website is kept up to date.

About the Candidate:

Experience & Knowledge:

Essential

  • A third level qualification in Sports Management, Sports Science or a related area.
  • 3- 5 years’ experience in a similar managerial role.
  • An understanding or knowledge of the High Performance sports system on the island of Ireland.
  • Experience developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating High Performance strategies and plans.
  • Experience and knowledge of athlete & coach development.
  • An ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • An ability to prioritise and delegate.

Desirable

  • Experience managing relationships with funding bodies.
  • Strong relationship management skills and the ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders (including volunteers, players, parents and coaches) by sharing information and identifying and dealing with issues effectively.
  • A deep and broad understanding of the golfing landscape within Ireland.
  • Experience working within the golf industry.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Strong Communication skills.

Terms And Conditions:

This is a full-time role on a permanent contract, reporting to Golf Ireland’s High Performance Director.
