Clare Louise O’Donoghue

Head of Commercial & Marketing

Clare Louise O’Donoghue is an accomplished commercial and marketing leader with expertise in PR, communications, sponsorship activation, and event management. As Head of Commercial & Marketing at the Federation of Irish Sport, she manages the organisation’s partner portfolio, enhances brand visibility, and leads key national events including the Irish Sport Industry Awards and the Volunteers in Sport Awards.

She also oversees the Federation’s communications strategy for its annual Pre-Budget Submission and member engagement initiatives.

Clare Louise has extensive experience and an excellent network in golf, built up over 15 years as an independent consultant. She has experience as a Senior Stakeholder Manager and Media Officer for major professional golf championships in Ireland hosted by the PGA European Tour (Irish Open, European Open, BMW Championship, HSBC World Matchplay, American Express WGC),  delivering high-impact sponsorship activations and stakeholder engagement for global brands. She also served as Head of Member Services for the Family Business Network Ireland, managing member relations, corporate partnerships, and a comprehensive event programme,  growing the membership during the pandemic.

With strong experience across digital content creation, media liaison, and high-profile event execution, Clare Louise is known for her attention to detail, creative approach, and trusted client relationships.

An accomplished golfer and tennis player, Clare Louise is deeply committed to the values of participation and volunteerism in sport, serving on the Mount Temple Comprehensive Sports Council and 2025 Lady Captain of Clontarf Lawn Tennis Club. She holds an honours degree in Applied Languages from Dublin City University and is fluent in Spanish, German, and French.
