Squash Ireland is recruiting a part-time Disciplinary Officer to lead and manage all disciplinary matters across the organisation. This flexible part-time role involves overseeing disciplinary policies and processes, convening and supporting disciplinary panels, and promoting a culture of respect, safety, and integrity within the sport.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and update disciplinary policies and the Code of Conduct to ensure a best-practice approach.
• Promote awareness of acceptable conduct and disciplinary measures throughout the organisation.
• Manage disciplinary cases, including receiving complaints, coordinating investigations, and preparing reports.
• Convene and support disciplinary panels, ensuring confidentiality, fairness, and consistency.
• Maintain accurate and secure records of disciplinary cases, decisions, and outcomes.
• Provide clear communication and procedural guidance to panels, complainants, and respondents throughout the disciplinary process.
• Prepare reports and recommendations for the CEO, Board, and relevant committees.
• Support volunteers and club committees to uphold high standards of conduct across the sport.
• Deliver materials or workshops (where required) to strengthen knowledge of disciplinary processes and expectations.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Essential
• Proven experience managing disciplinary processes within sport, education, HR, governance, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with impartiality, discretion, and professionalism.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear case summaries and reports.
• Conflict-resolution, mediation, or investigative experience.
• Strong understanding of fair-procedure principles and best practice in disciplinary matters.
Desirable
• A legal qualification is desirable
• Previous experience working in a sports organisation or with volunteer-led structures.
• Relevant training or qualification in mediation, arbitration, HR, law, investigations, or a related discipline.
Further Information
• Part-time role with flexibility to increase time commitment and to respond promptly when cases arise.
• Remote and flexible working available. Occasional travel to the Squash Ireland Office on the Sport Ireland Campus, Dublin 15, may be required.
• Daily rate dependent on experience.
