Irish Sailing – Communications Executive
Irish Sailing wishes to recruit a proactive and creative Communications Executive. This is an exciting opportunity to join Irish Sailing’s team working with both Core and Performance activities and engage with the Irish sailing community.

Irish Sailing is the National Governing Body for sailing, powerboating, and windsurfing. Job Purpose
To deliver on Irish Sailing’s Communications Strategy that promotes the benefits of water sports and being active on the water. In this role the successful candidate will accelerate their marketing and communications skills across all online, social, content and email marketing. They will also actively engage our stakeholders, to include our members, our clubs, training centres, national and regional bodies and national stakeholders such as Sport Ireland, Federation of Irish Sport, the Olympic Federation of Ireland, across our various communication channels.
Reporting to: Communications Manager
Key Accountabilities
Stakeholder Communications & Engagement
· Responsibility, management & content creation for all channels of communication, including Irish Sailing social media, to maximise reach and engagement and grow audiences.
· Manage and maintain content calendars for all Irish Sailing channels.
· Ensure Brand Guidelines are applied in all communications.
· Monitoring all channels and events to stay abreast of latest developments in the industry.
· Maintain positive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
Events & Projects
· Promote key events during the year, such as our Annual Awards, National & Regional Conferences, Performance and Core events.
· Support, document and report on Irish Sailing sporting events for internal and external channels.
· Manage and assist with communication campaigns and projects with internal staff and external agencies.
· Support the Communications Manager in the creation and roll out of marketing assets and campaigns.
Web Management & Maintenance
· Maintain and manage the Irish Sailing website, ensuring content and look is within established brand parameters.
· Create, manage, and distribute, with the team, content, and assets for publication through the website CMS, newsletter, social media and mainstream media.
· Provide analysis, metrics, reports and insight on audience engagement and growth, media coverage, membership satisfaction.
· Review all current marketing platforms and execute new approaches to develop marketing and communications strategy.
· Support and oversee the use of the Irish Sailing Logo and brand on any external imagery, posters, clothing, team kit etc.
Knowledge & Experience
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Relevant qualification in marketing/media or comparable discipline.
· Experience in a communications role.
· Familiar with graphic design packages such as Adobe Illustrator and Canva.
· Interest in photography/videography and editing.
· Strong interpersonal skills and a team player.
· A good knowledge of sailing in Ireland together with a broad interest or background in sport.

Location: Dun Laoghaire, Office/Hybrid Mix
Status: Permanent full time
Salary: Commensurate with experience
