Job Title: National Events & Membership Officer (Hybrid)
Reporting to: National Events & Volunteer Manager
Job Purpose: Badminton Ireland is seeking to employ a full-time permanent National Events & Membership Officer who will report directly to the National Events & Volunteer Manager. This person will play an important administrative role organising our 24 National events throughout the year. The successful candidate will help maintain our high standards for national events both administratively in the office and at the event. Additionally, this person will work with the International Events Manager around the Irish Open and will support the Membership Manager throughout the season.
Background to Badminton Ireland

As a governing body we aim to provide all members no matter their ability, age or role within a club, with programmes and activities that will enhance their experience within the sport and provide excitement.
Main Duties / Responsibilities (not an exhaustive list)
- Support National Events & Volunteer manager onsite at events
- Support Membership Manager regarding Sport 80 and other membership related fields
- Managing events on league planner and tournament software
- Booking facilities and liaising with venue operators supplying them with event plans and insurance waivers
- Administrative support for members entering events / team managers at events
- Risk Assessments & event planning
- Identifying and booking third parties for events
- Maintaining national rankings
- Budget management for national events reporting to International Events Manager
- Managing events information on website and promoting on social media
- Creating and developing social media plans to develop the image of Badminton Ireland events, specifically on TikTok and Instagram
- Provide live streaming and social media support at events
- Producing report on website within 12 hours of the completion of an event and post photographs from event on Facebook
- Operating phone calls & emails for events and membership queries
- Provide technical support to members and assist with membership team on Sport 80 membership system and tournament software
- Support International Events Manager with Irish Open administration
Knowledge & Experience
Our ideal candidate is confident and proactive, organised, a communicator (both verbally and in writing) with strong computer literacy.
Essential
- Minimum undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a sport related or events related degree.
- Strong Administrative experience
- Experience working / volunteering at events
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and social media
- Strong reporting and planning skills
- Be willing to work at National Events which take place on weekends. Some of these events are outside of Dublin.
- Have access to own car and have a full clean driver’s license
Desirable
- Previous experience working with membership systems such as Sport 80 or Tournament Software
- Experience in live streaming
- Experience with website management
- Reporting and Photography skills
- First Aid Qualification
- Knowledge of Badminton Events
Salary: Available upon request
Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Will be required to work occasional weekends
Location: Hybrid Role, Irish Sport HQ, Sport Ireland Campus, D15 DY62.
Minimum of two days a week in the office following successful training period.
