“I am honoured to be appointed as the first Chief Executive of the Irish Judo Association. I look forward to working closely with President Sylvia, the Board, the clubs and their members, staff and volunteers to build on the Association’s strong  foundations and further develop Irish Judo both across the island of Ireland and on the international stage. As I prepare to take up this role, I have reflected on my own introduction to judo as a young Judoka at my local club. That experience gave me a first-hand appreciation of the unique values and life skills that Judo instils. More than just a sport, Judo develops confidence, courage, respect, resilience and a strong sense of community. I am excited to work with my colleagues to promote these values, grow participation, and dedicate my energy to supporting the continued success and development of Irish Judo”.

The creation of the Chief Executive Officer role represents a significant milestone in the continued development of the Irish Judo Association. It reflects the Association’s commitment to strengthening governance, enhancing organisational capacity and providing the leadership needed to deliver its long-term strategic ambitions
