Paralympics Ireland is responsible for preparing and managing the Irish team at the Paralympic Games. Opening over 20 years ago, Paralympics Ireland strategically works under four core pillars: Building an Effective High-Performance System, Driving Leadership in Para Sport in Ireland, Creating a Sustainable Paralympics Ireland Model and Building the Profile of Paralympics in Ireland. They are one of Ireland’s most successful high-performance sports organisations. As the 2028 LA Games are approaching, Paralympics Ireland is now recruiting a Fundraising and Commercial Manager to support in the generation of new income, steward existing relationships, and ensure commercial and fundraising activities align with the organisation’s values, governance, and athlete-centred mission. This is a 3-month fixed-term contract.

Your new role

In the lead up to the 2028 LA Games, Paralympics Ireland has launched a new strategic plan and is expanding its team. As the new Fundraising and Commercial Manager, you will take the lead in fundraising, stakeholder management as well as –
  • Lead the development and delivery of integrated fundraising strategies across corporate partnerships, individual giving, major donors, and events.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with donors, sponsors, and philanthropic organisations.
  • Create compelling funding propositions that clearly communicate athlete impact, performance success, and wider societal value.
  • Develop and grow a sustainable donor pipeline aligned with organisational strategic objectives.
  • Support and enhance commercial revenue streams through sponsorships and partnerships.
  • Manage and nurture existing partnerships, ensuring delivery of agreed benefits and value.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, communications, and performance teams to maximise partnership activation.
  • Plan and deliver high-impact fundraising and commercial events, driving engagement and revenue growth.
  • Leverage key moments, including Paralympic Games cycles (LA28 and Brisbane 2032), to maximise fundraising and partnership opportunities.
  • Ensure all events provide an exceptional supporter experience, strong brand presence, and measurable financial return.
  • Partner closely with athletes, coaches, and ambassadors to support fundraising and commercial initiatives.
  • Ensure all engagement aligns with athlete welfare, safeguarding policies, and organisational values.
  • Act as a professional ambassador, representing the organisation with senior corporate and public stakeholders.
  • Oversee budgets, income targets, and financial forecasting for fundraising and commercial activity.
  • Provide regular performance reporting to senior leadership and Board stakeholders.
  • Ensure full compliance with fundraising regulations, sponsorship agreements, data protection, and governance standards.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and pipeline tracking through CRM and financial systems.

What you’ll need to succeed

Essential Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, philanthropy, sponsorship, or revenue generation roles.
  • Proven track record of building relationships and driving sustainable income growth.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams within a values-driven environment.
  • Highly organised with strong project management and delivery capabilities.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
  • Experience working within sport, disability sport, non-profit, or national governing body settings.
  • Understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG), or cause-related marketing.
  • Experience in event delivery and sponsorship activation.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and donor management platforms.
