Swim Ireland Connacht, Leinster, Munster Club and Regional Support Officers – 3 posts

Applications are invited for the posts of Swim Ireland Club and Regional Support Officers – three (3) posts in total – one Officer will be appointed to and will be based within each of the three Regions of Connacht, Leinster and Munster.

This is a salary post, with a three years’ part-time contract (20-25 hours per week) which includes a six months’ probation period.

Role: To support Swim Ireland Clubs and Regions in their day-to-day operations and to work with them in all aspects of their development (technical and administrative). It is intended that persons involved in this role shall be out and about regularly visiting Clubs and working closely with the relevant Regional Management Committee.

Key Responsibilities and Areas of Accountability:

  • Be the key Relationship Manager for a number of Clubs and the relevant Region
  • Be responsible for all Club/Regional membership matters (including the affiliation process) for designated Clubs and Regions
  • Provide assistance/advice on Club development issues (technical and administrative)
  • Support the delivery of high quality events within Regions, including seminars and training events
  • Build positive working relationships with key partners and stakeholders and others who may assist and support Swim Ireland’s Clubs and Regions
  • Support the roll out of Swim Ireland initiatives in each Region eg. Club Mark
  • Work closely with the Regional Secretary and the Regional Management Committee to maximise the Swim Ireland/Region relationship and thereby deliver positive results for the Swim Ireland membership.

 

Salary: The salary range for this part-time post (20-25 hours per week) is €14,000-€15,000 based on qualifications and experience.

Job Description

Swim Ireland Connacht, Leinster, Munster Club and Regional Support Officers

Role: To support Swim Ireland Clubs and the relevant Region in their day-to-day operations and to work with them in their development as high performing Clubs and Region. It is intended that persons involved in these roles shall be out and about visiting Clubs and Regions several days a week, as well as supporting the running of events in the Region.

Reporting to:  Swim Ireland Membership Manager

Detailed Responsibilities:

  1. Be responsible for supporting the general development needs of a number of clubs and the relevant Region
  2. Be the liaison person for a number of clubs and regions with regard to Swim Ireland activities
    1. Be responsible for the affiliation process for a number of Clubs/Regions/other
  3. Manage and lead in delivering development opportunities for the Clubs and Regions
  4. Encourage and work with the Clubs and relevant Region on the Swim Ireland Accreditation Programme (Club Mark)
    1. Visit Swim Ireland Clubs and Regions and attend meetings
  5. Develop and support member initiatives, in particular develop and support retention initiatives for participants in our sport
    1. Work with the Swim Ireland Database including inputting and checking of Club information, handling payments, dealing with transfers etc
    2. Work closely with the Regional Secretary and the Regional Management Committee to maximise the Swim Ireland/Regional relationship and thereby deliver positive results for the Swim Ireland membership.
      1. Respond to telephone queries
      2. Plan, prepare and deliver presentations to Clubs, Regions and others as required
      3. Continually seek examples of leading good practice in Club and Regional development and engagement to feed into Swim Ireland’s programmes.

 

Location:  Officers will be expected to attend the Swim Ireland Office (Dublin) at least once a month. Otherwise Officers will be based in their relevant Region travelling to Clubs and events, with a base to be agreed upon appointment.
