Athletics Ireland is seeking to recruit a high calibre team member to the Finance function with the leadership, passion and commitment required to lead the development of the financial system and report writing function. The person will have technical/finance system implementation and report writing experience. They will be a qualified accountant with relevant experience of financial systems and processes.
The finance system specialist will be an innovator who will lead the development of the finance system to optimise data management, processing efficiency, integration and reporting. They will be a skilled project manager who will work with stakeholders and the finance team to implement an upgraded system delivering automation, improved processing, reporting and training materials to the finance team and end users. They will manage the finance system developments and coordinate the delivery of reports, KPIs to support operations. The role requires a confident communicator who can deliver.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified accountant with at least 3 years post qualification.
- Previous experience of Finance System implementation.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Eager to Learn.
- Proficient with SAGE Line 50, Thesaurus Payroll, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding the importance of delivering high level service.
- Previous experience of Finance System implementation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with the Finance Team and other Stakeholders to finalise the project spec and deliverables.
- Investigate the systems in use by other sports NGBs and summarise their feedback.
- Finalise the project timeline and lock in the project go live dates.
- Finalise the reporting deliverables with the finance team.
- Coordinate the finance system tender and coordinate the presentations.
- Prepare a recommendation to the Finance and Risk Committee and Board on the new system.
- Manage the system testing
- Manage the data Master file transfers.
- Manage the system go live.
- Ensure that the report writing deliverables are prioritised.
- Lead and mentor the finance team through the system changes.
- Develop and deliver system user training and provide standardised ‘how to’ documentation.
- Ensure that the required grant reporting, monthly finance reporting, monthly budget reporting are delivered by the project.
- Ensure that the budget is uploaded, and forecast reporting is available from the system.
- Carry out other duties as may be required by Finance team to deliver the project or as needed by the CFO.

Remuneration and Location
Salary: Band 3, €44,403 per annum (min) to €60,073 per annum (max).
Position Tenure: Six months fixed term contract.
Position Location: AAI headquarters, 19 Northwood, Santry, Dublin 9.
