Post Title: Administration Support Intern

Reports To: Executive Committee, Irish Judo Association

Remuneration: Expenses only at pre-set limits

Contract Duration: 6 month internship July – December 2013

Based: Irish Sport HQ, National Sports Campus, Abbotstown, Dublin 15

Irish Judo Association:

Irish Judo Association (IJA) is the national governing body for the sport of Judo in Ireland. Our primary responsibility is the development, promotion and safeguarding the sport of judo in Ireland.

Job Purpose:

The Intern will assist with the promotion of the sport of judo through the Judo office as support to the Office Administrator in three primary categories.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Policy & procedures documentation review in line with proper Governance & Strategic Plan

2. Membership Database transfer

3. Assisting with the running of the Judo office as required


The position may suit a recent graduate looking to gain experience in a wide range of areas including policy writing & management of database technology. The successful intern will also gain a broad understanding of the running of an NGB and the Irish Sports landscape.


3rd level degree in Business with Sports Management or related field
A passion and understanding of the sport of judo

Knowledge of policy writing, strategic planning & core database systems
Excellent communication and writing skills
A proven ability to work on own initiative
Full clean driving licence (desirable based on  location)
Over 18 years of age

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday 10.30am to 3.30pm – time off in lieu of any extra hours worked

There may be a limited amount of weekend work, but not considered the norm.
