Position: High Performance(HP) Committee Vacancies(*3)
Triathlon Ireland is now seeking High Performance Committee members, who have recent & relevant experience in strategy development and administration of HP systems within sport, preferably Olympic sport.
The High Performance Committee is responsible to support the Board & Executive Team’s aspiration of creating a world-class high-performance system that will deliver consistent success at Olympic, Paralympic, World and European level for Triathlon Ireland.

The High Performance Committee is responsible to support the Board & Executive Team’s aspiration of creating a world-class high-performance system that will deliver consistent success at Olympic, Paralympic, World and European level for Triathlon Ireland.
Responsibilities:
Working in partnership with the Performance Director and CEO, and with a direct report to Board, the principal duties of the Committee shall include:
- Input and advice to the PD, CEO and Board on TI HP Strategy.
- Regular Assessment of the High-Performance Programme and its development pathways; reporting of recommendations to the PD, CEO and TI Board.
- Assist in the development of an Annual ‘Culture Health Check’ of the Performance System in line with international best practice.
- Provide an oversight role regarding the implementation of recommendations arising out of any review related to the high performance programme
- Act as a “sounding board” for the PD
Person Specification
The role and responsibilities of the High Performance Committee require a range of skills and attributes within its membership. Committee members should have the following skillset in part or in full:
- Recent & relevant experience in strategy development and/or leadership of HP systems within sport, preferably Olympic/Paralympic sport.
- An ex-athlete (ideally a triathlete)with competitive experience at international level to ensure the athlete’s voice will be represented in policy development.
- Facilitation and negotiation skills
- Ability to be honest, open, and unbiased when facilitating discussions
