The Irish American Football Association (IAFA) is seeking to appoint a Commercial Manager who has a strong interest in sport and is willing to volunteer their time to a sporting organisation. This is a volunteer position.
IAFA is the National Governing Body for American football in Ireland and is recognised as such by Sport Ireland and the International Federation of American Football (IFAF). At present IAFA is a volunteer-run organisation and there are over 3,000 active members involved in the sport at various levels. American football is a rapidly growing sport in Ireland, and we are expanding our Management team to meet this increased demand.
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for maximising income opportunities from a variety of sources including sponsorship, partnerships, merchandising, licencing, events and ticket sales. They will develop and manage programmes to increase attendances at IAFA fixtures and for maximising income opportunities from ticketing/sponsorship. The Commercial Manager will also foster and maintain strong relationships with existing key sponsors. The role is on a volunteer basis.
IAFA is seeking an experienced, commercially minded marketer with the ability to position American Football as a one of the fastest growing sports in Ireland and raise its profile among corporates and the public. The post-holder will act as a brand guardian for IAFA in a range of settings at Club, National and international levels as well as at national level with commercial partners and sponsors. The successful candidate will have significant experience in devising and implementing successful marketing campaigns, including building audience levels. They will also possess excellent relationship management skills and will be comfortable with securing support from corporate sponsors and partners.
