Cork City Council is establishing a panel for the position of Assistant Sports Development Officer (1 Year Fixed Term Contract) from which temporary vacancies may be filled from time to time.

The Assistant Sports Development Officer (1 Year FTC) is a key post within the Sports and Sustainability Section of Cork City Council. The section sits within the Directorate of Community, Culture and Placemaking (CCP). This role will involve working with the Sports Development Officer to encourage sport and physical activity participation across the city. It will involve working with a number of key target groups such as disadvantaged young people, travellers, migrant community, direct provision & women in sport. It will also involve working closely with other staff in the Sports Section, such as the Rugby Development Officer to use rugby as a means of promoting social inclusion through sport, particularly amongst young people. This role will involve a mixture of sports coaching and administrative work aimed at developing and implementing programmes and initiatives that increase active participation
and learning through sport.
