Founded in 1669, The King’s Hospital is a voluntary Church of Ireland co-educational secondary school for boarders and day pupils, offering a broad academic curriculum and a wide range of extra-curricular activities. The School’s fundamental values are a Christian conscience, a sense of duty and loyalty and a love of learning. The School is currently undergoing an on-going development programme, which includes the development of a sports strategy. To develop this strategy and lead the School’s extracurricular and competitive sporting activities, The King’s Hospital is seeking to appoint a Director of Sport.

The Director of Sport will be responsible for devising and implementing a whole School sports strategy, coinciding with the School’s overall strategic plan. He/she will be responsible for increasing participation and performance levels in sports and physical recreation activities throughout the School. The Director of Sport will be able to differentiate the King’s Hospital as a leader in sporting activities by offering a range of activities with opportunities for achievement. He/ she will also serve as a member of the School’s Senior Management Team.

The King’s Hospital is seeking a strategic manager with the ability to lead and develop all of the School’s sporting activities. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in strategic planning and experience in competitive coaching of at least one sport. He/she will also possess the ability to communicate effectively in all forms.
