Swim Ireland is seeking to appoint a Club & Regional Support Officer based in Munster, to support Swim Ireland Clubs and the Region in their day-to-day operations and to work with them in all aspects of their development (technical and administrative). It is intended that persons involved in this role shall be out and about regularly visiting Clubs and working closely with the relevant Regional Management Committee.

Swim Ireland is the National Governing Body for the Aquatic Disciplines in Ireland, recognized as such by the Irish Government, Sport Ireland, Sport Northern Ireland, the Olympic Council of Ireland and FINA and LEN, the World and European Aquatic Governing Bodies.

Some Key Responsibilities for the role include:

  • Be the key Relationship Manager for the Clubs and Regional Management Committee within Munster
  • Support the delivery of high quality events within Regions, including galas, seminars and training events
  • Be responsible for all Club/Regional membership matters (including supporting the affiliation process) for designated Clubs and Regions
  • Provide assistance/advice on Club development issues
  • Build positive working relationships with key partners and stakeholders and others who may assist and support Swim Ireland’s Clubs and Regions
  • Lead in the roll out of Swim Ireland initiatives in the Region eg. Club Mark
  • Work closely with the Regional Secretary and the Regional Management Committee
  • Plan, prepare and deliver presentations to Clubs, Regions and others as required
  • Continually seek examples of leading good practice in Club and Regional development and engagement to feed into Swim Ireland’s programmes.
  • Maintenance of Regional website and social media accounts

Munster Club and Regional Support Officer

Reports to Membership Manager


To support Swim Ireland clubs and regions in their day to day operations and to work with them in all aspects of their development (technical and administrative).

Full Time – 39 Hours per week




Responsibilities for the Club and Regional Support Officer will include:


Provide general Club support through visits, guidance and direction

·         Visit clubs and meet with committees and coaches as required

·         Ongoing answering of queries and support

·         Support affiliation and registration of clubs ensuring all policies and procedures are met and adhered to

·         Assist the set-up of new clubs

·         Work closely with and build relationships with Regional Committees to support the work in which they are trying to deliver

·         Support in development of new initiatives and training for clubs and members

Lead the delivery of the Club Mark Programme

·         Strategically target clubs for sign up of the club mark programme

·         Visit clubs and support throughout the process

·         Keep records of all documentation submitted by clubs

Regional Committee Support

·         Provide support to Regional Committee and all sub committees within the region in their day to day operations

·         Providing support in the running of galas and any events that the region may run from time to time

·         Maintenance of the Regional website, social media accounts and ensuring the are kept relevant and up to date

·         Providing support where required in the organisation of regional squad trips

·         Fully understand the budgetary and financial circumstances of the Region and provide support to the Treasurer as required

·         Keeping up to date the Regional Operations Manual and all associated policies and procedures of the Region.

·         Attendance at all executive meetings and designated events


·         Support the National Children’s Officer in the implementation of polices and delivery of new initiatives and projects

·         Support other departments in Swim Ireland in the delivery of their work, such as Competitions and Events

·         Build positive working relationships with key partners and stakeholders and others who may assist and support Swim Ireland’s Clubs and Regions

·         Support the roll out of Swim Ireland initiatives
