Pentathlon Ireland is looking to appoint a High Performance Coach. The purpose of this role is to continue the current growth of Pentathlon Ireland’s High Performance Programme athletes in conjunction with the developing grass roots programme as part of the strategic development plan for the sport of Modern Pentathlon in Ireland.

The successful candidate shall need to have strong fencing coaching skills to develop the athletes into top world class fencing pentathletes and the willingness and ability to work with other coaches and support staff in the high performance programme.

The role will encompass three key aspects:

  1. Be responsible for the planning, implementation and administration as needed of the High Performance Programme at age groups.
  2. To increase the number of High Performance Athletes through the national developmental model in partnership with the grass roots development of Modern Pentathlon within Ireland.
  3. Be responsible for the development and performance of the High Performance athletes at the international level as head coach of the High Performance Programme and lead coach for development of domestic coaches.
